Sport Bike Boots also offer shin plates and calf protection from unexpected impact, abrasion as well the grief of bad weather. And the better bike boots often incorporate reflective material into the heal, helping to get you noticed on the road.

Especially helpful when you’re working on your bike, oil resistant soles are a another feature offered by many motorcycle boot manufacturers. And a good-quality biker boot often includes a reinforced shift area for added durability against the wear of the shift lever.

Designs available for each type of street bike
There are four basic styles of boots to match the four general types of street motorcycles – Cruiser, Sport Bike, Touring, Standard.

Cruiser boots tend to look the most like general purpose boots while high-end sport bike boots have begun to look more like ski equipment than motorcycle gear.

Biker boot pricing can very quite a bit, depending on the style. We’ve seen good quality boots at Motorcycle Superstore selling for as low as $40 to top of the line cruiser models for $120.

Sport bike boots offer the most advanced features and vary the most in price – from $90 to well over $400. Touring boots also have a wide price range depending on the features needed - $70 to $250 which is true of the standard-style boots as well.

Biker boot sizing corresponds to standard footwear sizing – with one or two wrinkles. Motorcycle footwear manufacturers don’t always offer half sizes, so you may need to go up a ½ size to get your favorite bike boot.

Our recommended merchants typically include online sizing charts for each of the boot manufacturers they carry as well as conversion charts for U.S. customers as many of the boot manufacturers are European.
